- Bronchitis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Emphysema
- Interstitial lung diseases
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Post-trauma and neural damage
The special procedures performed by respiratory care practitioners include tracheostomy, bronchostomy, pulmonary function testing, Lexiscan® injection, and treadmill testing. The department provides pulmonary rehabilitation for patients from our pediatric subacute unit, as well as training for family members on how to operate their child’s ventilator at home.
The respiratory services department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with licensed respiratory therapists.
