Hospital Staff Partner with Orange County Rescue Mission to Provide Gifts for Residents

In December, Foothill Regional Medical Center delivered more than 300 holiday gifts to the Orange County Rescue Mission in Tustin. With the help of hospital staff and students from St. Hedwig, the gifts were wrapped and delivered to the mission to be distributed to homeless men, women and children.

The rescue mission provides meals, clothing, shelter, spiritual guidance, medical care, counseling, legal counsel, basic life skills, education, financial literacy, vocational training, career placement, and transitional housing, among other programs.

“As a vital healthcare resource and large Tustin employer, every year we look for opportunities to support local organizations and charities—especially in December, but throughout the year,” said hospital CEO Araceli Lonergan. “We’d like to thank Nancy Palmer, the rescue mission’s community engagement coordinator, for giving us the opportunity to participate.”

Foothill Regional Medical Center is the only hospital based in Tustin and is a full-service acute care hospital on Newport Avenue. The hospital was completely remodeled and equipped with the latest technology when it opened in 2015. Its 24/7 paramedic-receiving emergency department has high patient satisfaction scores and short wait times.
